About Event

Join us at the Ismaili Center, Houston on Sunday, September 27th at 5:00 p.m. for a panel discussion. In collaboration with the Rothko Chapel, Paper City Magazine, and Opera Gallery, this event welcomes artists from Texas Contemporary for an open conversation exploring their individual practices, perspectives, and experiences working within the cultural landscape of Texas.
Moderated by Abdullah Antepli and Catherine D. Anspon, the discussion will center the artists and their work, creating space for an open and thoughtful exchange across practices, ideas, and lived experiences. Bringing together artists Preston Douglas Boyer, Bradley Kerl, Virginia L. Montgomery, and Lovie Olivia, the program offers an opportunity for dialogue around contemporary art and the many perspectives shaping Texas today.

Who can attend events at the Center?

Events and programs at the Center are open to the public unless otherwise noted. Some events may require advance registration or tickets due to limited capacity.

Events are held throughout the Center’s indoor and outdoor spaces, including the  black box theater, social halls, classrooms, courtyards, and gardens. The event page will specify the location of each program.

Yes, visitor parking is available on-site. Please enter through the gates on West Dallas Street and follow the signs to the underground parking garage. After parking, take the elevators up to Level 1 for building and garden access.

Unless otherwise specified, events are open to guests of all ages. Some programs may have content or space considerations and will note any age guidance in their description.
